In Günzenberg, a small town in Germany, Josef Mengele was born. Being born to a wealthy family, he had good opportunities as he matured. Later on in his life, he earned a Ph.D. from the University of Munich that specialized in physical anthropology. Two years later, Mengele became an assistant of Dr. Otmar Von Verschuer. Who studied twins at an institute for Hereditary Biology and Racial Hygiene in Frankfurt. That same year, he joined the Nazi party and received his medical degree. He was doing really well until the war interrupted his work. He was volunteered into the SS army in a city outside of Germany, taking a position within the medical field. During his time here, he was wounded and returned to Germany, He went on to experiment with twins, using his fascination as motivation. This took a dramatic turn for him, as many people began to look down on him for murder of thousands. Another war took place soon after, but Mengele managed to escape; little did he know that death was following him in his footsteps. While he was swimming, he suffered a stroke and drowned.
